At GCSE our students can be justifiably proud of their achievements. There was a 99% pass rate with 74% grades A*-C. Almost 78% of the students secured five or more of the top grades, 58% including English and Maths, which are well above the national figures and represent an 11% improvement upon the 2010 results. All of our students deserve praise for their efforts, and in particular, congratulations to:

• George Forsyth, 9 A* grades, plus three at grade A;
• Joseph Wahab, 9 A* grades, plus two at grade A;
• Anne-Louise Richards, 9 A* grades, plus one at grade A and one at
grade B;
• Philippa Bryant, 8 A* grades, plus four at grade A;
• Rebecca Jones, 7 A* grades, plus three at grade A and two at
grade B;
• Charlotte Strong,7A* grades, plus two at grade A, two at grade B;
• Philippa Budd & Natasha Orr both with 4 A* grades, plus seven at
grade A;
• Mari-Ann Annetts, 2A* grades, plus nine at grade A and two at grade B;
• Stephanie Prideaux-Aspinall, 4 A* grades, plus six at grade A;
• Julia Kunze with 10 grade A passes, three at A*, and George Lee also with 10 grade A passes and one at A*.
Performance at A Level has long been a strength of the Shaftesbury/Sturminster Schools’ Sixth Form Partnership. All of our students are to be commended for performances which saw a pass rate of 97.3%, of which 73% were A*-C grades, and virtually all of them progressing to their chosen employment or institutions of Higher Education. In particular, we congratulate:
• Eric Bradford, who achieved four A’ Level passes, two at A*, and who will now attend Imperial college, London to read Chemical Engineering;
• Keiha Dhruev, who achieved three grade A passes, one at A*, plus one at grade B and who will attend Exeter University to read Mathematics;
• Stuart Wareham, who has a place at University College, London to read Medicine , achieved four grade A passes, one at A*;
• Agnes Rutter, who will study Conservation Biology & Ecology at the
University of Exeter Cornwall Campus achieved four straight A passes; and Man Tok Tang, who also achieved four grade A passes plus one at grade B, and who will now attend Nottingham University to read Pharmacy;
• Philip Prevett, who achieved three A grades, two at A*, plus one at Grade B, who has a place to study History at King’s College, University of London;
• Isobel Orton achieved three grade A passes, one at A*, plus one at grade B and now proceeds to study an art Foundation course; and Danielle Rigiani, who also achieved three grade A passes, one at A*, plus a grade C who is going to King’s College, London to study nursing;
• Andrew Frampton secured three grade A passes plus one at grade B; Hung Yan Law, achieved three grade A passes plus one B and C grade; Lucy Hull secured two grade A passes, one at A*, plus two B grades; Philip Prevett secured two grade A passes, one at grade A*, plus one at grade B; and Lok Chun Chan secured two grade A passes, one at A* plus four grade B passes.
