The Library Resource Centre offers resources to help students with their learning, including homework and coursework assignments, revision and study skills, careers and further education enquiries. All students are welcome to use the LRC as a place for quiet study and reading during lessons and at break and lunch times.

The LRC is open between 8.30 am to 3.00 pm.
Homework Club takes place after school on Mondays and Thursdays until 4.00 pm.
Resources include:
Over 8,000 books, magazines, newspapers, CD-ROMs, DVDs and CDs
Viewing and listening facilities
Self-service photocopier
Networked computers with access to the Internet
All resources are catalogued and issued on the automated library system Eclipse.net.
Students can search the online catalogue Searchstar on computers throughout the school.
The LRC is accommodated in a large, airy room with comfortable seating and low, accessible shelving. It is used for whole class, small group and individual study.
The adjoining Careers Library is used for careers lessons and enquiries, but also by 6th Form students requiring a quiet area for private study.

There is always a member of staff on duty to help students:
Resource Centre Manager, Mrs Symons
Resource Centre Assistant, Mrs Harris
There is also an enthusiastic team of Student Librarians. They come from all year groups and are responsible for the issue desk at break and lunchtimes. They also create displays to highlight particular areas of the library stock and to advertise coming events.
Reading promotion events take place regularly, including author visits, quizzes and competitions. The school holds an annual celebration of reading in “World Book Week,” which is organised by book group members, student librarians and staff from a wide range of departments. The school has also won the Dorset Book Award for reading and creative writing on both the occasions it has been held.
