All students in our sixth form follow an individual 16–19 study programme designed to support their academic progress, personal development and future progression. Each programme is built around a clear core aim, usually a substantial Level 3 qualification package such as A Levels, applied general qualifications, AAQs or BTECs.
Students are guided onto courses that are appropriate to their prior attainment, interests and future aspirations. Alongside their main qualifications, students benefit from a wider programme of tutor time, careers education, study skills, enrichment, leadership opportunities and personal development.
Students who have not yet achieved GCSE grade 4 or above in English and/or mathematics continue to study these subjects as part of their programme, in line with national 16–19 study programme requirements.
Our curriculum also includes work-related learning and progression support. This may include employer encounters, workplace experiences, volunteering, mock interviews, careers guidance, UCAS support, apprenticeship guidance and preparation for employment. Through this programme, students are supported to progress successfully to university, apprenticeships, employment, further training or other positive destinations.
